Clerkenwell Eyrie

A music agent had recently purchased a two-storey penthouse property and wanted to undertake a full refurbishment including structural works and renewing services. During the early stage design process, a clear brief emerged around an open plan ‘public’ floor suitable for entertaining, and a more private upper floor with bedroom, bathroom, media room and mezzanine library for sole use of the client. These two floors hinged around a new stair construction which spiralled into the main living space and marked the transition from the light material palette of the public spaces to the richer, warmer palette of the private spaces.
