Community Boxing Club

Mosley Thorold Architects have been approached by a long standing, hugely successful community boxing club to help them build a new permanent home in the centre of their local park.

The site suggested by the council is currently occupied by a long neglected and brutal looking 1960s changing pavilion, which has long been a magnet for antisocial behaviour and in dire need of an overhaul.

Still in the early development stages, our proposals have been looking at ways to intersect stripped back sections of the existing structure with a new, open gym space. The proposal seeks to transform the character of the existing site by introducing a new architectural language that responds to its parkland setting in a sensitive way.

Further community functions are to be included such as new changing facilities for the adjacent pitches and a public Café.
